FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS1. Where are your machines made? Our Aroma espresso machines are 100% designed and made in Italy. 2. Is direct plumbing necessary? No. Direct plumbing is not necessary. We have electric water pumps that will automatically draw water to the machine as required from a 5 gallon water bottle. Most of our models even have an internal reservoir that can be filled with a pitcher. Of course, you can run a water line from your water source, put on one of our high-end filters, and provide all the clean water you can use automatically. 3. Can the Aroma machines produce regular coffee? Yes. Along with the espresso beverages, our units also produce popular choices such as chai tea, hot chocolate, and regular coffee. Even hot water for tea. 4. Can I get Decaf? Yes. However, in the Aroma 5500, you'll have to give up the Chai Tea because we would need to use the canister the Chai is in. If you do add decaf, the decaf drinks will not be whole bean since there’s only 1 grinder and 1 bean container in the machine. Instead, we use coffee that has been pre-ground, brewed and then freeze-dried. The coffee is not instant coffee like you find in supermarkets. It’s specially made for us to create as similar a flavor and taste as possible such as you would find from fresh whole beans. 5. Are there special power/outlets considerations? No. The Aroma units require a standard 110 power outlet. 6. Can the size, strength, and mixture of the beverages be adjusted? Yes. Everything about each beverage can be altered to your liking. We do this for you upon installation. Our computerized system is so easy to use, the drinks can be changed easily at any time. The temperature can also be easily adjusted. 7. Are the beverages truly fresh made? Yes. Nothing is pre-made or mixed until you make your drink selection. The coffee is not even ground until the drink is selected. Each cup is fresh ground. 8. What is the cost to make a drink? Your average cost per cup made will be about 25 cents. That’s right, 25 CENTS for a freshly ground, freshly made espresso beverage, versus $$$ at your local coffee house. 9. How do I clean and maintain the machine? Refill your ingredients, pull-out and empty the drip tray and coffee grind box, and run the self cleaning rinse cycle. Our units are maintained in mere minutes a day. 10. What is the warranty and service provided? Our Aroma units come with a one year parts and labor warranty. However, we will extend the warranty on your Aroma 5500 to 1 year, as long as you choose to purchase your coffee products through us. You will want to use our products for several reasons besides keeping your warranty in effect. First, our products are exceptional. It required over a year of testing to create the finest products possible. Second, you’ll never find them less expensive. That’s because we manufacture all the products and roast the coffee beans fresh each day. Third, we deliver by UPS the next day. For service calls, a technician will contact you within hours, and make physical visits if necessary within 24 hours. 11. Can your machine be equipped for vending? Yes. Our machines can be altered to accept coins or dollar bills prior to dispensing. 12. Am I required to purchase coffee from AB Caffé Services? No. Our machines are not like the various “pod” systems that require a very specific coffee packet from a specific company, usually at a very specifically high price (generally 60-80 cents). While we would obviously prefer you to purchase through us, our machines will grind any bean you should choose to use. However, if you choose to change beans after your machine is delivered, you need to let us know because there’s a simple adjustment that we need to make because some beans are more oily than others or have less fat content. 13. How does Powdered Milk compare with Real Milk? First of all, powdered milk and “real” milk are both milk. Taste-wise, there’s no difference – they taste exactly the same. The primary reasons we use our “Cappuccino Creamer” is because it has a 1 year shelf life and the machines require no special cleaning chemicals. With our Aromas, all you do is push one button and all the residue is flushed out and thrown down the drain at your sink. Espresso machines that use liquid milk require a great amount of maintenance and care. Plus, if the machines are not cleaned thoroughly each day, bacteria builds up and causes disease. People can become very ill from these bacteria growths. We don’t have to deal with this by using our milk product. 14. How many cups can I serve from the products in one canister? This is very hard to estimate. Because every drink uses a different amount of product to create that specific beverage, the amount of soluble product in any one canister could make 30 drinks or 100 drinks. It also depends on the size of the cup. The bottom line is: Open the door of the machine each day and top off all the canisters. The most important thing to remember is that if a canister is empty, it won’t make the drink you want. It’s like a beautiful Ferrari with no gas. It looks great but you aren’t going anywhere. 15. How many cups of coffee can I get from a full inside & outside canister on the 5500? One pound of coffee creates approximately 60 drinks. This changes if poor quality coffee beans are used because they are usually hollow inside and therefore have to use more beans to create the same amount of grams of ground coffee. Because the combination of the inside and outside canisters hold around 2 pounds of coffee (our beans), you should be able to make 120 cups of drinks that use coffee in them. The same amount of coffee is used to make espresso, a regular coffee or a café latte. It’s always 8 grams. 16. How long should I expect my Aroma to last? We have Aromas in the field that create 50,000 drinks a year with no problems. The parts that may wear out are simple to replace. If you keep your unit clean, both inside and out, we feel confident that no matter how many drinks you serve a year, we’ll be able to keep it in excellent working order as long as you wish to keep using it.
